Roadcase Royale – Not Giving Up
Most would agree most popular artists out there have something truly special to give to their fans. This goes above the typical attributes like raw talent, amazing songs, nice voice, or even a very marketable look, sound & image. There’s something truly infectious at the core of these artists that simply makes us feel good when we listen to them. Whatever “it” is – they all seem to have “it”.
This act has produced a killer tune based on old-school sounds. It’s very much in keeping with the hard rock of bygone decades. This is a riff based screamer with a lot of soul fire built into it. The balance between mellower, older sounds and harder rocking stuff on this is very strong. Led Zeppelin is definitely an influence on this. The vocals are soulful and powerful. Nancy Wilson of Heart fame is one of the two singers here. She also provides some guitar. Liv Warfield is the other singer on this project. The two of them are the joint vocal attack on this rocking tune. Ben Smith (drums) and Dan Rothchild (bass) make up the rhythm section. The other guitarist in this band is Ryan Waters. Ken Joyner plays keys. This single has really piqued my interest. I hope to hear more from this act. They have a great hard rocking sound that’s well rooted in the rock traditions of the 1970s. This is really hot stuff. Let’s hope they maintain this level on the rest of their repertoire. I bet they’d be a hot band to catch live, too.
From start to finish this single delivers the goods and is a very entertaining musical experience. It has a great message yet pushes hard and has a nice Soul-Rock quality to it, and even dabbles in Blues Rock and Jam Band. Any fans of any of these musical styles or bands will enjoy this latest release. It’s clearly marketed for those who like a female vocal front and plating that never lets down its guard. I get the impression these gals (Wilson and Warfield) are letting it all hang out via this compelling release. In other words they hit the mark remarkably well by just being who they are musically. The song strikes the perfect balance between rock, alternative rock and hard pop rock. The songwriting is impressive and digs a bit deeper than the next independent band. Within this song Roadcase Royale captures something special as they bares their soul and delivers what I would call pure musical mojo. It offers much in the way of passion and compelling-thought provoking lyrical content. The playing from all members is spot on and just makes the whole song even more enjoyable. The vocal abilities from singer Warfield is to die for. The latest single from Roadcase Royale entitled Not Giving Up is amazing. In close most famous artists out there have “it” I’m not so sure what it but Roadcase Royale have whatever “it” is.
